Greetings from Baja California Sur
I am a new member and collector of agaves and living in southern Baja. All my agaves grow outside and I have several very special agaves that were used by the ancient Mayans. I would love to identify it's specific family. I will post a photo in the next few days.

I'm curious. Do you live anywhere near the Sierra de la Laguna mountains? It's the only bit of natural green all the way down B.C. Sur.... I've always wondered what grows there.

Re: Greetings from Baja California Sur
Lots of things grow here! I live very close to the Sierra la Laguna mountains and frequently wander up into them.
We have evergreen pine trees, juniper, agaves, aloe, lots of varieties of cactus, yucca, date palms, fan palms, many varieties of torote, palo blanco, palo verde, plumeria, jojoba, biznaga, cottonwood trees, and pretty much anything else you stick in the ground.
It is the perfect climate for growing agaves.
