Hello from Sweden

Post by ahek »

Hello
I am Axel living in Sweden. I work with desert plants at a botanical garden in stockholm and like to learn alot about etnobotany, thus Agave species have a importance to desert survival. I am also interested in species that are complex as in Agave americana and angustifolia/vivipara, just for the knowledge of them and i really like subspecies :)
Anyway, agaveville has been a source of information for me since the last years, so it's nice to finally enter the sphere.

Welcome to the forum, Axel.

Always great to add growers working in a challenging environment for succulents, even when they’re under glass.

Thanks!

Yes it is true i do only grow them under glass. I have many clones of utahensis var eborispina of which i will try growing outside from on this year, they are 3 years old now. It always the moisture here that kills them. Since few years back i grow Opuntia compressa without cover and its actually prospering.
