Neat plant...looks very little like the plant I have by the same name. Yours heavily favors the macroacantha parent...I wonder how it'll grow up?

I wonder too. I guess I assumed it would lose the marginals and lengthen out like yours but they are pretty prominent so we'll see. It even has a few spines on the leaf backs.

MITS, I hope you don't mind but I found this photo in another forum. I believe it's your plant after you first got it 6 years ago?

Ha...snooping around eh? :) That looks like my plant and the funky yellow pot next to it is definitely mine. I must admit I had forgotten it came with some marginal spines!

Google has a long memory, which is good for beginners like me who don't mind digging through a little dirt. D)) I'd love for it to keep its spines but I have a feeling it will look a lot like yours in the end.

This one shows nice purple color when stressed.
