I have a hybrid: protoamericana x scabra but i have to cultivate that one also!!!

i got one pup from our local botanic garden 25 years ago. it has bloomed
about 10 years ago but i have many more now.

is it me or does the Huntington plant look like salmiana? Perhaps I just don't know protoamericana...
the first and last plants pictured look very dissimilar. Not saying any of these aren't named correctly; just marveling at what constitutes the taxon
