If we all liked the same thing it would be a very dull world......

Very nice A.F. Did you get 'Ruby Pagoda' from Arid Lands? That's one I've been contemplating acquiring...

Re: Aloe cv. RFG/Raspberry Ruffles ?
I got two ruby pagodas from arid lands at different times this past summer and they were consistent in appearance. However, I did not feel they were consistent with the photo or description on the AL website. I didn't see much for raised bumps on the leaves, reddish cast (pink yes in direct sun) or curved leaves. lolSpination wrote:Very nice A.F. Did you get 'Ruby Pagoda' from Arid Lands? The ruby pagodas are beautiful when under heavy sun and look (colorwise) more like the photo on AL's website of the Aloe cv ‘Unnamed‘ 5-inch pots (cultivars S-Z) as they take on an overall very pink color. The sad part is, they fade into oblivion when removed from heavy sun and now that mine are in for the winter, they have sunk way down on my love list as there isn't much for teeth or textures to keep my interest.
I looked and for some reason, I have no pictures when they were in their summer glory but if you want me to shoot some photos tomorrow of their winter drabness and post them, would be happy to do so.
My top three faves now are OIK, lavender Star and raspberry ruffles so two remained in my top 3 list. Now of course I don't have the really fancy ones you do or I am sure I would be revising my list again.

I think the best pic * I've seen of 'Ruby Pagoda' was on AL, but now that you mention it doesn't even really do justice in hand as it does in the photo, I'm more reluctant now than before.
The 3 faves you mentioned are all very nice hybrids - all on my like-a-lot list too.
* Well, one of the pics anyway. The one with the blue-gray color, red teeth, and bumps. For some reason, the other pics look like something different - which is why I never ordered it (thinking I'd probably get the one not so appealing to me)

RR has smaller rosettes and is fast to increase. RFG larger rosette and slowly growing of the two.
