My young albeit growing collection

Post Number:#1  Postby johnbecker » Tue Dec 26, 2017 10:50 am

Here's a bit of my aloe collection--at ~35 species total I know I'm a novice compared to the wealth on this forum, but we only bought a house with garden space at the end of 2015, so I don't think I'm doing so shabby. I'm also acquiring plants small and trying to grow them to maturity myself, both because of cost and it seems more proper that way somehow. So I'm still years away from anything truly spectacular here, but I do love my babies...

Took a hit in last week's frost, but this was in a 2" pot in March!

Needs to be potted up come spring but it's already so big that the thought is stressing me out.

Found this languishing the back of a friend's yard and promptly claimed it. I'll post pics of it properly cleaned up and repotted.

Nice collection. :U Very interesting and unusual coloration on the A. vanbalenii... is that variegated? Looks very nice!
