Tree aloe hybrids

Post Number:#1  Postby Durls » Fri Dec 29, 2017 6:51 am

I have recently been told that tree aloe hybrids such as Goliath, Hercules and Samson more often than not produce seed that is infertile. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this and if so are plants only produced from the original trees that have been crossed? I am trying to find some viable seed to be sent to Australia and have found none. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

I don't have the answer, but I can tell you that if you sow a F1 hybrid the descendants can't look like the mother plant or only a little part. The only way to accurately propagate a cultivar is vegetative propagation.
