Cleistocactus winteri

Here is a rare sight in my neck of the woods, a C. winteri bloom. Easy to see why the controversy regarding genus. Bloom is really different from other Cleistos, also a peculiar cactus in that it's an autumn grower.

Beautiful species of Cleistocactus. I have a large Cleistocactus strausii that I have had for maybe 25 years now. It spends winters in my garage and summers in my desert garden.
