Good things come to those who wait

#1

Post by KLC »

This cactus was retrieved from underneath the frame of my truck after doing some dirtbike riding near Lake Pleasant, Az. I put it in the ground and left it for dead, maybe 6 months ago, this morning I noticed it was blooming.

Beautridl little Mam..... is it bombycina? I was above the Grand Canyon once and parked and I had run over several little Mams that looked like this.

Unless I miss my guess, that would be M. grahami. We encounter it frequently on our habitat excursions.

Thanks, must be nice to be able to trek thru your 'backyard' and see cacti and succulents, LOL.

In this case, M. grahami literally does grow wild in my backyard. :))

Since the original post had a broken link because of the PB problem, I am posting a recent picture of my M. grahami in flower here, to give people a sense of what this discussion was about.
