Opuntia indica
Here is a picture of my Opuntia indica. I have to trim it considerably to keep it in bounds.

Is this supposed to be different from O. ficus-indica?

I think it would have to be O. ficus-indica iso O. indica as far as I am aware that is not an official species, but those pads are something if it is indeed O. ficus-indica.
However the shape of those pads make me think about a plant that is on the market as O. gomei 'Old Mexico'

I should have typed O. ficus indica. It was given to me as ficus indica but after mcvansoest posted and I googled it, I think that, indeed, it is Opuntia gomei 'Old Mexico'. Thanks mcvanoest for solving the species for me. People on here are so very knowledgeable, again thanks.
