Is this A. parryi truncata or what? I lost the tag and don't remember.

Yes it looks quite a lot like A. parryi.
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

Not truncata, the other varieties represent a false construct, IMHO. Call it v. parryi.
