Funny pup on stilts. Anyone know what this is called, and whether the behavior is normal?

That is Sansevieria pinguicula, a favorite of many of the townfolk living in Agaveville. And yup, it's a stilt-root, alright.
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

I was hoping to see a ping when I read this subject line! One of my favorite plants for sure. They are very fun to grow. We have a few threads in the Nolinoideae forum that go into growth habits/cultivation if you're interested.
