Two drought tolerant palms
The first person ic is Sabal uresana. The second pic is Guihaia argyrata. The Sabal is undoubtedly more xerophytic. It is in the ground about 15 years from a one gallon starter. The Guihaia is surprisingly drought tolerant. It is growing under a live oak, Q. fusiformis, in about two feet of rocky, rooty soil on top of dense limestone bedrock. It does get more irrigating than the Sabal, but not so much.

These are both really beautiful. I love the way they look in your landscape.

San Antonio, Texas. It was 104F here yesterday. No significant rain in 10 weeks. 30-40% chance over the next four days. Fingers crossed and tithes to the gods.

Re: Two drought tolerant palms
Central Texas was described as a land of milk and honey by early German settlers. I realize they were drugged on schnitzel and sauerkraut. They did arrive during a wet cycle, but this region has not been desert. We might be becoming part of the new and expanding Chihuahuan Desert. Of course our current EPA director says there is no climate change. Surely he knows.
