That is an Aiphanes, but not sure which species... A aculeata is a likely possibility. These are pretty tropical palms though some grow here in Southern California... but rarely look that nice.

Thanks Geoff. In a quick research of the the names, I have found that Aiphanes aculeata goes under the more popular name of A horrida. Also, there are about 26 species covering the Caribbean and South America. The big surprise to me, was this palm was native to my home country, Trinidad and Tobago. Jkw
