If you live in the US mainland, this is most like the species you would be most apt to be growing, as the other two tend to be more touchy/marginal (save perhaps in south Florida). This species is quite spiny and a bit less robust than Acanthophoenix rubra, with little of the interesting colors. Still, young palms are quite ornamental and interesting. In the tropics and its native island home, this species is still fairly ornamental as an adult. Cold hardiness down to about 25F.
