Acrocomia totai

#1

Post by Geoff »

This was, for a while, included in Acrocomia aculeata, but has been since separated out again... much smaller palm all over- shorter, thinner and shorter leaves, and trunk tends to be less spiny near the bottom sooner... but very similar otherwise. Cold hardiness seems to be about the same, or perhaps greater than aculeata... approximately 25F, but tolerates brief frosts a lot lower. South American species
