Livistona victoriae

#1

Post by Geoff »

this is a medium sized Australian Livistona from north and west Australia where it grows in desert canyons in fairly isolated areas. It grows up to about 50' tall at the most. Leaves are an attractive pale blue-green (about the same color as a Brahea clara). But cold hardiness is lacking and this is one of the more difficult Livistonas to grow in a non-desert-like Mediterranean climate. It really seems to need a lot of heat year round, and cannot tolerant long periods of cold or even cool.
