medium sized solitary Madagascan monoecious bifid-leaved palm with very upright, long, unsplit to barely split leaves and almost no petioles- rachis is bright yellow and quite ornamental. Very slow growing palm, taking decades to form a real trunk. Grows up to nearly 30' tall maximum. Rare in cultivation, partly due to its intolerably slow growth rate. But well worth it if you live long enough. Likely too tropical to be grown well, if at all, in Mediterranean climate.
Masoala madagascariensis
