Here is a picture of my Cycas revolute that flushed about a month ago after loosing all fronds during the hard winter. IT went down to 5*F here. It should flush again later in the summer.

So it's pretty hardy then?

That's good because mine has to stay out now - too big to get into the greenhouse any more. Might bubble wrap it? What do you think?

how cold do you get? These live in areas where it can snow regularly (but very short winters with many warm days, too).

Snow and ice will definitely yellow the fronds. IT is now DEc 29 2014 and my Cycas revolute has been damaged by the one low night of 19 F? That is the coldest night all winter or Fall. I should have covered it with a frost cloth. I will, again, cut off the fronds fertilize and wait for it to flush. It is in full sun in a xeriscaped bed so it gets hotter in that spot than anywhere else on the property so it will flush early and repeat later in summer.
