Here is a picture I took a few days ago of the new growth on my Cycad i took a few days ago. Believe it or not, I looked today and the high wind and hail broke most of the new supple frond flush off! Sad. It does flush twice but will not be as beautiful as usual this year. You can see I always cut the brown fronds off and start fresh each Spring. Notice it is getting a nice trunk on it. WE have had severe wind and tornadoes(6) here in the Upstate this week, but I never thought this would happen. The storm last night shook us out of bed and the hail was an inch deep on the deck. I thought for sure it was a tornado, but it was not just very high wind and hail form a severe thunder storm.
