Funny to see a japanese maple side by side with a Beaucarnea, two plants with two opposite needs concerning the watering.

A massive one down in Harlingen, Texas. Possibly 50-60 years old but grew around the corner of a house, leading to its demise.

First time working with B. Recurvata, and it was blooming when purchased. Cut the spent inflorescence in late September, and have not seen any new growth stemming from the cut. When/how long does it take for new stems (not offsets) to appear?

Mine branched after its first bloom. Maybe just a coincidence or maybe that's what they do since I only have one in ground.

This cut stimulated 4 branches to grow (two of which bloomed this summer) on the same tree from previous post. Appears to be original stem as opposed to an inflorescence cut, so I'm not anticipating a rebound like this, but it's nice to have for reference if anyone can confirm! The cut is about 4ft from caudex.
