Plant in my yard, probably pushing 15 years old with about 20 inches of trunk. My wife insists I trim it up, it looks stupid, takes up a lot of valuable space...I keep considering hacking it up and throwing it out, but haven't been able to quite convince myself yet.

One benefit of trimming it up is usefulness as a shade source.

How rare are the variegated versions? I've never seen one in cultivation and it seems that the two you have photographed are habitat pictures.

These are the only two we've seen, and we have never heard other reports. The first may or may not be naturally occurring, it's sortuva long twisted story, but the second is definitely a naturally occurring variegate.
