Dyckia seeds

#1

Post by Azuleja »

Two of my dyckias, clones of each other, either self pollinated or pollinated each other via hummingbird. I sowed some of the seed just to check and it's germinating.

The seed is fresh. If you want any, let me know and I'll send some. I believe my cultivar is Dyckia 'Black Gold,' best guess. The photos are of the same plant a few months apart. Tested in cold and rain to mid 20's. Larger, landscape size.

Believe it or not, I've found that ants do a pretty good job pollinating these too, in case you happened to see any around them during flowering.

Oh, and these seeds seem to have better results when fresh...
