I've tried the variegated every time I see it. :)) Cant resist...they do ok all summer...fade away in winter. Haven't seem them yet this year. I like the color is sort of iridescent metallic. Not a common variegated color.

The variegated is what is sold here Mick most of the time. I didnt even know they weren't all that color until I saw the all green a couple of years ago. As far as I know, they are perennial evergreens. Not annuals. Your growing them..do they die in winter on you?
I've tried the A.telephiastrum variegated forms. Looks so nice..but they are tricky. I think its that they are very sensitive to our winter rains.

Those hot pink Anacampseros telephiastrum won't grow outside in CA. They go dormant in the winter & want to be dry, and though they look like tough succulents, they're sensitive to sun & want bright partial sun or they burn. They're basically like mesembs.

I think of them as "garden center" plants, greenhouse grown to look flashy on the shelf, then they're downhill all the way.

True. Sometimes inexpensive doesn't mean easy to keep. Anybody have a 2 year old Neon Tetra?

Magnificent. Are they California plants? Can be grown outdoors? I've never seen one,so I have my doubts. Even UC Berkeley didnt have that in their hot and dry greenhouse.

Thanks Stan. Photobucket must have made such a mess of so many forums.

I'll take some new pictures.

If you see any others like this let me know.
