Echeveria agavoides Purple Crest - rooting cutting

#1

Post by Spination »

On 3/27, I decided to take a cutting from this Echeveria agavoides Purple, acquired as "Cristata", in any case eventually featuring a long creeping stem with multiple rosettes. I decided to take a cutting out of it, that was otherwise jammed in between better developed rosettes.
This is the plant when I got it back in 2016

And one year later, almost to the day, with an arrow indicating the cutting which was to be removed

Yesterday, I took it out of the large clay saucer I use for rooting stuff, and found it had a nice root system already, so potted it up

The original plant, still looking fine, even minus the cutting I took

In the end, I don't think the term 'Crest' is accurate, as the eventual result features individual rosettes sharing a single stem.
