Alternative xmas tree

#1

Post by Xanthoria »

I was pruning away at my community garden yesterday and took down the dead flower spike from an Agave americana "Lemon Lime", and after removing the bulbils I thought... "yeah!" D))

We're remodeling so excuse the papered floor. But the "tree" had about 8' of "trunk" removed and we put it in an xmas tree holder. It just needs decorating and I think it'll be very striking!

I like it! A Charlie Brown Agave stalk.
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

Nice! Last year's parrasana stalk is a little advent tree for the kids this year.

It is apparently impossibly to post an upright photo from this phone, so, sorry GS.

Stan I'm thinking some silvery spray paint, then ornaments. :U

Makes for a very cost-conscious choice, considering we've just spent cough-cough-all-our-bloody-money-cough-cough on the renovation, but we're enjoying the recycling/green aspect too D))

Anyway when it's decorated I'll add more pics. Melt, I like where you went with that parrasana!
