Bulb 'caudiciforms'

Would you folks consider these plants caudiciforms... or just raised bulbs?

Since we don't have a bulb section anyway, I say go for it.
Agave
"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".

the reason I ask is I have included these plants in the past on a grouping of caudiciforms and it caused some complaints (more contentious group perhaps)

Given the tepid interest around here for bulbs (a shame really) it makes as much sense as anything. Nice boophone....

I like bulbs, but I only have common ones that grow easily here and maybe not so easily in drier climates.

It might be better to start a "Xeric Bulb" section to organize these plants under before to much work gets done on this.

There are a whole lot of species of bulbs that will eventually find their way into the listings here; perhaps it would make more sense to give them their own category.

"Bulbs" being considered plants that grow with progressive plates of growth versus the solid caudex typical of cauduciform plants.

So what about my Ferraria? Do we need an Iridaceae section for things without plates? :) Why are Adenium not going in Apocynaceae? Botanically correct or user-friendly...pick only one I guess.

Sure,it belongs. Its a look that matters. I've seen Miribalis (4 O'Clocks) raised up and doing a very good caudiciform LOOK without being a technical true caudiciform.

I am not opposed to a Bulb section. If someone steps up and volunteers to moderate it, I'll make it happen.
