I live in the Bay Area in California and my entire yard is practically covered in Argentinian ants. Many of my pots have colonies in them and when I water they hold little flood evacuation drills that almost cover the plant in ants. I have had this problem for several years now and they hasn't seemed to hurt any of my cacti, agaves or other various succulents, but I am not really sure.
Should I be concerned? Are they harming my plants by living in the pots? If so, what should I do?
Thanks for any insight or advice.
Justin

Well, ants often farm aphids and spread pests like mites and mealies from plant to plant. They had quite an aphid operation running for a while here. I used abamectin granules (Advance) to kick them out of our yard.
