It could just be one of the large feral cats that you can find all over the valley
Not sure where it comes from but at some point or other a significant part of the feral cat population must have interacted with some kind of monster, that left its genetic footprints all over the cat population. We and several of our friends all have adopted cats generally from the street that have turned into monsters, polydactyl 20+ lbs giant cats. Many have long haired Siamese genes...

It could be a Smilodon. I know where there is a gigantic Mastodon glyph. Word of mouth history...
