Most common species of the genus in cultivation. Old plants are true collector's items. Flowers come in a variety of colors from white to various colors of pink.
Huntington Gardens habitat shot. If you ignore the cactus on the right and the shiny dogtag id's glowing from overexposure (bad camera!) you will notice 14 of these guys nestled in the ground.

First time ever flower for this A.retusus which I have had in the ground for exactly two years now. It gets afternoon full sun and dappled shade before that.
