that plant is a 'curly-leaf' form of Encephalartos ferox, a somewhat rare and curious form. Most plants have nearly completely flat leaflets. Also a female with that characteristic nice red-orange cone

11 years old from a sprouted seedling size. The Begonia to the left is 5'. The new fronds flushing are not quite full size yet.
One of the best for shade or in the cooler S.F.bay area.

Nice video. I had a few Ferox seedlings going, but mistakenly left them out in the first part of our big freeze. They did not make it.
