San Diego Zoo does not have plant sales...
I was shocked- well, sort of when a friend on the net in San Diego told me that the Zoo- with all those exotic plants and palms and edibles..don't sell the extras. I take it they toss out to the dumpster all the extra Aloe's,cacti..you name it. What a waste!
Hayward Ca. 75-80f summers,60f winters.

It would be an awesome event that they could sell tickets to and use to generate funds from plant nuts who would happily bring their families and empty their wallets.

Got there early last time, and won the first bid @ $10. Nice big one!
Put the thing on the rotisserie and it cooked up real nice.
Unfortunately, it tasted just like chicken.....

I think mine was fed a lot of cheeto-type stuff by tourists.

^Urban legend. Clubbed seal (aka seal veal) is nearly indistinguishable from a good lowland gorilla rib roast (aka primate rib).Spination wrote:

^ Sure, I've "heard" (wink, wink) the same thing. If you ask 'em to hold the mustard, it's actually soylent blue.

I wonder if the SD CSSA branch helps them with their plants, as the Institute for Aloe Studies does at the Oakland Zoo...
