This was about 40' and I had doubted Livistona reach that heights here. It was at a historical nursery..so a chance.
Now looking...yes,its L.australis. The trunk settles it.
Well,if the mod wants to delete,I can repost to the correct palm.
Livistona was my first thought when I saw this photo... wish I could see the leaf bases better... Livistonas have unsplit leaf bases while Washingtonias have widely split leaf bases.
I will try to get more pics..I have be out that way. Today i was looking at some 60-70 year old Washys in Hayward- and that trunk ringing looked the same near the top. Plus,the Livistona's are usually vertical aren't they? This one in the photo had a coconut like curve.
