Uncarina seedlings

#1

Post by AmonRa »

Well I planted seeds of several kinds and hybrids of uncarina on 4-6-23 and this was 9 days later. the first came up at 6 days after sowing. They are still sprouting so will give the slow ones plenty of time to come up. My roeoesliana seeds are always very big seeds and the first to sprout. Grandidieris are slowly coming up like last year. And no sign of the decaryis yet. Although the decaryi X roeoeslianas came up quickly. Will see how things go this spring. 2 flats total.

Nice! If they were only evergreen they would be plants that have it all.

Yes, but when they are in leaf and flower they are lovely.

I do have a seedling roeoesliana that bloomed at two months old and has stayed leafed out all winter in my kitchen with low light. All my others drop at some point in winter indoors. This One I will keep an eye on this summer and see what it does.

Good info. I might order seeds. My Uncarina peltata takes forever to come into spring leaf, and is one of the first to drop leaves in November. Still,it's a beauty in leaf and flower and the caudex is looking swollen after seven years in a pot (16 inch pot).
