Albino Verschaffeltia splendida, young
Thought I'd share my albino Verschaffeltia splendida seedling. Seeds were planted on Nov 10, 2020, germination started on December 15, 2020 and ended on January 4, 2021. I had 10 seeds, of which 9 germinated, of which 8 seedlings survived, including this albino specimen. I am aware it shouldn't live for long, and will probably soon die. I haven't treated it any differently from my other seedlings. I thought about feeding it a sugar diet, but decided against it. It's getting watered and fed, and lives under the same conditions as my other V. splendida-s.

Interesting. Keep us updated if it somehow survives.

Re: Albino Verschaffeltia splendida, young
It actually survived for quite a long time, to a 6-leaf stage. But it was extremely slow-growing and the albino leaves tended to brown easily, so it didn't exactly look attractive. Which is why I never posted any more pictures. The leaves were also much smaller than of normal plants from the same germination batch. Then, at some point I forgot to water it for a while and it all went downhill from there. Dead by now.
I also supplemented it with sugars, but I'm not sure if that had any benefit, since I only started it when it had 3 or 4 leaves.
Could have made a few bucks off it had I kept it alive, but really, it was slow and the brown patches on the leaves made it look sad. But all in all, it survived longer than I expected and died only due to fault of mine.
