Greetings from the Netherlands
Hi, I have been a member of this forum for over a year but hadn't introduced myself yet.
Together with my father I run a small nursery and landscaping company with in recent years also a mini camping in the province of Zeeland in the Netherlands. I started growing exotic garden plants as a hobby in 2002, first I started with hardy palms but soon I started growing all kinds of frost-resistant exotics and from 2010 also cacti and succulents. Since about 5 years I started a webshop where I sell these exotic plants.
I try out all kind of xeric plants outside here but it isn't easy, the winters are often mild but very wet, especially this fall and winter has been very extreme with the rain.
Here are some pictures of xeric plants I grow outside at our nursery.
Greetings,
Arjan

Hello. Those are impressive looking polyphylla. I like the crevice garden they seem to be planted in - good idea to increase the drainage.

Hallo Arjan, glad to see you here. I have a vacation home in Zeeland,( Burgh Haamstede) and would love to come by and see what you’re growing, perhaps this Easter? I’ll send you a pm.

Being Zeeland should help with the cold temps in winter, which probably contributed to the state of those fabulous polyphyllas!

Thank you all for the welcome and yes those Aloe polypylla's really like my climate, these are only 4 years old from seed! I do cover them in winter against the rain, I don't want to risk to loose these.
Greetings,
Arjan

4 years! They look closer to my 10 year old plant than a three year old I have!

I also grow a couple polyphyllas that are the same age in pot and these are a lot smaller, they like being in the ground.

There is clay soil beneath this crevice garden, they probably have their roots in there so plenty of nutrients and water

Wow, nice glow-up on on those Polyphylla! I guess they really do love the climate there.
