What’s going on with this Kumara Plicatilis?

Came across an unusual looking Plicatilis at the local box store. This Plicatilis seems much much wider than the ones I’ve seen in the past. Wondering if this is some sort of hybrid or a mislabel? It almost looks as if this was supposed to be two leaves and they never separated.

Your last image shows quite well how much larger this plant is from the typical size. I agree that it's tempting to assume it's either a hybrid, or a larger cultivar. I'm no Aloe expert, but I don't think I've ever seen a hybrid of this species. although it is reported to cross with the easily hybridized Aloe variegata. I think it's more likely to be a hybrid of a close relative like Kumara haemanthifolia. This is highly unlikely because of how difficult that species is to cultivate.

Hopefully an Aloe expert will "chime in".

I must say haemanthifolia went through my mind as well.
