I wasn’t expecting Stapelia obducta to be flowering at this time of the year!

Nice! These plants must get occasionally confused, considering where we grow them.

"American aloe plant," 1797, from Greek Agaue, proper name in mythology (mother of Pentheus), from agauos "noble," perhaps from agasthai "wonder at".
