This is one of the more popular of the Archontophoenix with palm collectors, though the 'purple' in the crownshaft is not always that purple... sometimes Archontophoenix cunninghamiana has nearly as much in it. It is a moderately fast growing species with white on the undersides of the leaves (like A alexandrae) and leaves oriented flatly like most of the other Archontophoenix. Cold hardiness to about 25F but will show some leaf damage if at this temp for any length of time.
