Is there a way to sort galleries by new?

Is there a way to sort posts by new in the "gallery" sections? This is the only forum I've ever participated in, so maybe there is an easy fix I'm not familiar with?
If I want to clear the little dots/diamonds showing that there is an unread post in the galleries it is sometimes difficult to find the new post because there are so many pages and sorted in alphabetical order. If I caught it recent enough I can click the "last post" on the right and find it easy enough, but if two or more posts have been made since my last login, then I don't know how to find the most recent unless I sort one-by-one through all 23 cactus pages, 11 agave pages, 16 aloe pages, etc.

Is there a way to sort those by most recent post on my end? I understand the need for it to be alphabetical for all to find overall, just trying to see most recent on my end.

If there isn't currently, is there a way to add a "sort by" option at the top of the gallery pages?

Actually... I just saw the little link for "mark topics/subforums read" on each gallery. That is good enough to help clear the notification for my ocd.

Click "Quick links" toward the upper left to access a drop down menu, which should help you find new posts.

If you go to the bottom of a forum page you can click on the sort icon and set the sort to your liking. To sort new posts first use the following:
