Medium height fan palm from Haiti/Dominican Republic and Venezuela (weird distribution): moderately rare in cultivation and one that struggles but can sometimes be kept going for some years in California. Grows up to 30' in natural habitat. Leaves are somewhat stiff but do have some floppy leaflets here and there. Leaf blades less than a semicircle. Slow growing.

Re: Copernicia berteroana
Germinated seeds of Copernicia berteroana. Comes up reliably and fast from fresh seed -- in my own experience, and from what I've heard from other growers. It took 3 weeks for me till they germinated.
