Xeric Ferns, Fern Allies, and other crevice dwellers

UC Berkeley has an outdoor planting of them in a raised bed the length of the dry greenhouse. With more out in the gardens. Silver ferns are not easy to keep.

Despite drought Pelazoneurum ovatum lindheimeri (Lindheimeri shield fern) is growing well at the base of the Canyon Lake Dam, where the Guadalupe River reforms. I guess not quite a xeric fern, but a nice large fern.

I've been wanting a fern that could grow here. I saw JLBG mention a brazilian hairy sword fern or something along those lines that handled cold well, but never considered native ferns. Will look inot this. Also, do you know what this is that you posted from enchanted rock?
