Boyce Thompson had a few last week @ $35. Dunno how long I'll have it, tenderness may be an issue.

Aridlands has them (or at least they did only 2 months ago when I was there), though not listed on their website. You can call them to see if they still have them available.Meangreen94z wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 8:36 pm Nice, did you find that locally? I’ve only seen seeds online .

Re: Fouquieria burragei
Nice! Are these opportunistic bloomers or do they have a preferred season?

Re: Fouquieria burragei
They have an extended flowering season - certainly not opportunistic. Flowers in cooler months are pinkish, while flowers mid-summer are pure white.
Flowering panicles start developing in April and there is continuous heavy flowering from then through at least October, with lingering flowers in November thru January.
The only months I've never recorded flowering (or even signs of developing inflorescences) are February and March.

My little F. burragei from the OP is coming along. Had two branches, now has five.

Re: Fouquieria burragei
My little F. burragei took a hit from a single night of 27°F, in the form of dropping all it's leaves (all old leaves that haven't yet dropped are dry and crispy). Here it is now, 10 days later, possibly no worse for wear.
