Hello bit of help needed from you all over what you think this is?
Bought as Agave ovatifolia, but obviously not. The history is that they were bought as seed grown from a nursery in Italy, supposedly of ovatifolia.
What do we think the parentage could be?
Appreciate your help

Although I don't own one yet, to me it looks a little like Agave 'Mad Cow'

Wayne, I don't know what you've got there but it's a good looking Agave. I have one which is somewhat similar, especially considering that dark green-grey colour. Also coming from Italy. Pics taken today.
Edit: on a second look yours is more silver and sports thicker ovatifolia style leaves.

Thanks for posting. Well as both imported from an Italian nursery, we may have ones from the same batch. We'll have to compare time from time.
Mine pups alot, how about yours?

Not a single pup, yet.
But I had a similar one, also from Italy, of the same colour which died after I took it inside for winter. That one was pupping like crazy and I saved a few of them. They are real slow (due to mostly inorganic substrate) but already pupping.

What a beautiful agave.... eye catching indeed. So did we reach a consensus what it is?Blue Agave wrote: ↑Sun Nov 19, 2023 1:59 pm Hello bit of help needed from you all over what you think this is?
