A rare and endangered species in the genus Phoenix. It is endemic to the Cape Verde Islands. The photos taken in Boa Vista in 2015.

I've done a quick search. There's one growing in the Orto Botanico in Rome.

Back to the island. Truly I find it impossible to tell this species from standard dactylifera.
