I visited a client today with 5 Whale's Tongue Agaves. It seems that 3 are different, though all planted at the same time. Two (the same-looking variety) are having issues. The one in the picture is the worst. I did not see any bugs on them, but they do look a bit odd. One has leaf distortion, as seen in the pictures. She said the leaves came out looking fine and then developed the distortion. The new leaves look fine now, but again, just a little odd. Any ideas?
Some things I considered:
Damage from Agave Bugs that weren't seen and have moved on
Edema (it's been a wet spring/summer)
Damage from lawn treatments (doesn't seem as likely though)
A combination of multiple issues all coming together at once???
