Dasylirion from seed glacially slow? Or is it me

These will be 2 yo in December. They’re not slow at all, even after a short setback when transplanted from a community pot into individual pots. I’m using a very inorganic mix with no fertilizer, so it seems that extra water during the growing season does the trick for me. They were bought as leiophyllum seeds, but they’re blue and the leaves are starting to twist, so I’m afraid they may turn out to be wheeleri. Then again, those spines facing downwards are more like leiophyllum.
