I think they are good to zone 7, but I don't think they handle moisture well. I only have seedlings so I can't give any personal info, but here are two tiny bits of info:

Says zone 7: https://www.plantdelights.com/products/ ... 5SiHfXRps6

Post #14 says chrysantha can't handle 45" of rain annually unless great drainage:

Also, this is the gallery and not the discussion zone of the forum. Discussion happens here occasionally, but questions like this usually go in this area:

Good luck and share results of what works or doesn't work for you!

Mine handle moisture rather well. It's one of the Agaves I'm growing that I'm least concerned about in this respect. I don't think they are as good as gentryi, but they can take their share of rainy fall days, with temps below 10C (40-50 F) without a single spot of rot. Of course, at some point enough is going to be enough, but in my experience they can handle themselves with moist conditions for a while. (All my Agaves do have adequate drainage though).
Species I'm growing from seed: Agave nizandensis, Agave difformis, Agave parryi, Agave schidigera, Aloe alooides, Aloe manandonae, Aloe dhufarensis, Aloe barbara-jeppeae, Hyophorbe verschaffeltii, Kerriodoxa elegans, Johannesteijsmannia altifrons, Chrysalidocarpus leptocheilos, Licuala grandis.
