Are they Agave yucuanensis?

#1

Post by AgavePoet »

I noticed two records of an Agave population on iNaturalist. It is in Oaxaca but not the area mentioned in Greg Starr' s paper. Some plants look like Agave yucuanensis while some look like A. kerchovei/convallis.

No, those are not A. yucuanensis, they are generally grouped in with Agave ghiesbreghtii.

I’m betting on a variety of A. horrida.
