Specifically my palms in Lago Vista, Texas.I figure the beginning is as good a time to document growth rate, hardiness, etc. Sorry these pictures were at dusk, lowering resolution.

As it turns out, the above palm was misidentified and not a Trachycarpus. Other specimen have been found producing offsets. Upon closer inspection it appears to be a Brahea, most likely the silver variant of dulcis

Wow! that's a who's who of hardy palms. Going to be a lot of shade in those beds soon.
I just up trimmed a big volunteer S. palmetto that I realized was keeping the agave beds shaded in winter. That low angle sun fools me when I'm normally only observing in the long day months. Am hoping the protection afforded by the overstory on cold nights doesn't affect the daily warmth I hope to improve. 16 f here this morning but of course officially 20 in town.

Sounds like you are having an early start to winter. I’m hoping atleast this winter will be mild and give everything a chance to establish. I’m prepared if not .
